A micropub in Nuneaton has been crowned The Best Pub in Warwickshire!
The Lord Hop is a one room public house based in a former beauty salon in Nuneaton town centre and recently won the Nuneaton and Bedworth CAMRA Pub of the Year and Cider Pub of the Year competitions before being crowed as the best in the county.
The micropub will now be entered into the regional finals and if successful will go on to fight for the title of the best pub in the country.
Owners Barry Thomas and Gary Thomas opened the doors in 2015 and have built a solid reputation in a short space of time. The Lord Hop has real ale lovers visiting from all corners of the country and a string of rave reviews on it’s Trip Advisor page.
“A great selection of real ales which you can try before you buy served by knowledgeable staff. Well worth a visit especially for Real Ale fans.” – TripAdvisor review
Speaking to local newspaper the Nuneaton News, Gary said: “We didn’t really think about the Warwickshire award, we thought it was too far out for us, and when we heard we had won it, we really had to pinch ourselves. Now to be in the regional finals, against some fantastic pubs is just incredible.
“We have a real community spirit among our customers, they are great, so for us to win these awards is brilliant.”
